  1. Position Overview – The System Test Automation Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of DrKumo’s Intelligent and Secure Digital Health Technology for Chronic Disease Management, including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Remote Patient Monitoring – Home Telehealth (RPM-HT) system. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and execute robust testing processes, with a special focus on healthcare data standards, automation, and continuous quality improvement.
  2. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Develop and Implement Automation Tests 
      1. Key Responsibilities:
        • Design and maintain automation test scripts using Python, Selenium, and Pytest.
        • Enhance system reliability and performance of the RPM-HT platform.
        • Conduct advanced debugging and root cause analysis to optimize testing workflows.
      2. Required Knowledge and Skills:
        • Proficiency in object-oriented programming and advanced debugging techniques.
        • Proficiency in the VA’s Directive 6500 Risk Management Framework, NIST FIPS-200, NIST FIPS 140-2, NIST SP 800-53r4
        • Familiarity with software architecture and testing methodologies.
    2.  Conduct Critical Smoke Tests and Ensure System Readiness 
      1. Key Responsibilities
        • Perform smoke tests to validate production builds for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs RPM-HT project.
        • Proactively identify and address production issues to maintain system stability.
      2. Required Knowledge and Skills:
        • Strong understanding of rapid test validation techniques and performance metrics.
        • Ability to diagnose and resolve system issues in a multi-tier environment.
    3. Implement Integration Testing with HL7 Standards 
      1. Key Responsibilities:
        • Develop and execute integration testing suites for the parsing server, ensuring compliance with Health Level Seven (HL7) standards.
        • Validate the secure exchange of clinical and administrative health data between applications to improve patient outcomes and system performance.
      2. Required Knowledge and Skills:
        • Expertise in HL7 protocols, including FHIR, XML, and JSON data formats.
        • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards and secure data workflows.
    4. Integrate Test Automation into CI/CD Pipelines 
      1. Key Responsibilities:
        • Collaborate with development and QA teams to embed automated tests into the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
        • Enhance release cycles and enable continuous quality improvements.
      2. Required Knowledge and Skills:
        • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
        • Advanced knowledge of DevOps methodologies and agile development processes.
    5. Asynchronous Code Testing with TypeScript/JavaScript 
      1. Key Responsibilities:
        • Execute asynchronous code testing using TypeScript and JavaScript with Mocha.
        • Enhance the reliability and interfacing capabilities of event-driven architectures.
      2. Required Knowledge and Skills:
        • In-depth understanding of asynchronous programming patterns and concurrency models.
        • Expertise in test-driven development and stable test case design.
    6. Identify and Resolve Integration Discrepancies 
      1. Key Responsibilities:
        • Analyze and resolve integration discrepancies across microservices
        • Streamline deployment processes and support secure data exchange standards.
      2. Required Knowledge and Skills:
        • Advanced debugging skills and a deep understanding of network protocols.
        • Strong proficiency in troubleshooting multi-layer system architectures.
  3. Educational Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field is mandatory.
    • Preferred: Knowledge of HL7 standards, DevOps, & healthcare IT.
  4. Required Qualifications
    1. Technical Proficiency:
      • Expertise in Python, Selenium, Pytest, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
      • Proficiency in HL7 standards and healthcare interoperability protocols.
      • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and containerization technologies.
      • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, secure coding practices, and encryption methods.
    2. Competencies:
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
      • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills in a cross-functional environment.
      • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and agile setting.
      • Preferred Qualifications
      • Knowledge in healthcare IT or HL7 standards.
      • Experience with Kubernetes and microservices architectures.
      • Familiarity with government healthcare projects and compliance frameworks.

Job Description:
We are seeking a Healthcare AI/ML Engineer with a strong background in security to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and deploying machine learning models and solutions for healthcare, as well as a deep understanding of Federal Enterprise Architecture, FIPS-approved cryptographic algorithms, and VA 6500, VA Cybersecurity Program

Responsibilities:

  • Develop highly secure healthcare systems utilizing Federal Enterprise Architecture and modern data encryption techniques and security applications that satisfy the VA 6500, VA Cyber Security Program.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams (Data Science, Operation Engineering and Data Engineering) on machine learning challenges for highly secure healthcare systems at scale.
  • Build scalable machine learning pipelines including ETL, model training, and deployments in the healthcare business domain.
  • Design and implement solutions to optimize training execution in terms of model hyperparameter optimization, model training/inference latency, and system-level bottlenecks.
  • Transform data science prototypes and apply appropriate ML algorithms and tools.
  • Enhance the end-to-end AI/ML project lifecycle, from data collection and preparation to deployment and maintenance.
  • Develop and deliver analytic products using statistical analysis, machine learning, and interface development.
  • Work with teams to design intuitive visual interfaces for users to interact with data using dashboard and programming software.
  • Develop guidelines for Airflow cluster and DAG (Direct Acyclic Graph).
  • Develop data pipelines for onboarding and change management of datasets.
  • Implement CI/CD for Airflow deployment and test automation frameworks.
  • Own the development, testing, and maintenance of native development and SDKs on Android mobile platforms, their respective OS versions, and devices.
  • Lead the task assigned, which may include end-to-end ownership of the software stack.
  • Demonstrate the ability to consistently build high-quality, secure software.
  • Work on patent applications.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and deploying machine learning models and solutions with demonstrable back-end implementation experience in NodeJS (Typescript), Flask Python.
  • Expertise in Federal Enterprise Architecture and modern FIPS-approved cryptographic algorithms, including data encryption, digital signatures, symmetric/asymmetric ciphers, block ciphers, hashing algorithms, etc.
  • Expertise in application and system development for VA 6500, VA Cyber Security Program.
  • Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or another major deep learning framework.
  • Deep technical experience working with technologies related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and/or deep learning.
  • Deep understanding of Data Warehouse/Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, OLAP concepts, SQL Queries.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow, including installing, configuring, and monitoring Airflow clusters and usage of Airflow DAGS in data pipeline infrastructure.
  • Domain knowledge and experience of software development on Android systems and have worked with multiple areas of Android SDK.
  • Experience in manual/black box testing of connectivity stack for mobile and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).
  • Practical experience with debugging NFC and BLE communication using sniffers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of native app development for NFC and BLE communication.
  • Experience in several data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Column-based databases.
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React and Redux.
